The Robotic - Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining robots and auxiliary equipment. This role involves managing all aspects of automated robots and auxiliary equipment, ensuring a strong preventive maintenance program, and troubleshooting and making adjustments to robot programs and fixtures. The technician will align, fit, and assemble component parts, attach wires between controllers, and maintain inventories of production supplies. They will troubleshoot robotics systems using knowledge of programmable controllers, electronics, mechanics, sensors, feedback systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics to determine the causes of operational problems or failures. This includes repairing or replacing defective circuit boards, sensors, controllers, encoders, and servomotors, as well as performing preventive and corrective maintenance on robotic systems and components. The technician will also maintain service records, install, program, or repair robot controllers, end-of-arm tools, or conveyors, and interpret machine operation manuals to identify problem sources. Additionally, they will disassemble, remove, repair, and/or replace defective components on manufacturing equipment, perform preventative maintenance including lubricating and cleaning, and visually inspect and test machinery. Listening for unusual sounds to detect malfunctions and discussing variations with supervisors or other workers to diagnose problems are also key duties. The role requires maintaining equipment to ensure quality parts are produced and responding to call-backs in emergency breakdown situations. A flexible schedule is required, and assistance with other duties as assigned by a supervisor/manager is expected.
