About The Position

The Robot Programmer will be responsible for setting up and operating robotic welding equipment to produce high-quality parts. This role involves ensuring material is properly prepared, fixtures are set up, and the welding process is executed according to specifications. The programmer will also perform inspections, identify and repair defects, and create documentation for weld schedules. Maintaining a clean work area and adhering to safety protocols are essential. The position also requires inputting maintenance work orders and scanning data into the MRP/JDE system.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of technical training in robot welding operations
  • 2+ Years Welding Experience
  • Ability to input and scan work order data into MRP/JDE system using RF scanner, keyboard and mouse

Responsibilities

  • Verify material and set up necessary fixtures for the welding process.
  • Perform final weld inspection, including 100% visual weld and special inspection per print specification.
  • Perform pre-work inspection of the robot welder and complete any necessary maintenance for safe operation.
  • Brace, clamp parts, and perform specified tacking processes to avoid distortion and ensure proper alignment for the robotic welder.
  • Perform secondary functions such as welding and grinding to correct parts that do not conform to standards.
  • Identify weld defects and make necessary repairs.
  • Create and document weld, seam tracking, and weave schedules for new parts as needed.
  • Identify 100% of parts produced by stamping with an individual employee number.
  • Maintain a neat and orderly work area complying with all 5S initiatives.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Follow and comply with all safety and personal protective equipment requirements.
  • Input Maintenance Work Orders as necessary; Ability to input and scan work order data into MRP/JDE system using RF scanner, keyboard and mouse.
  • Follow all procedures and processes in accordance with weld manufactured parts defect-free product.
  • Complete required in-process inspection, repair any defects found and document critical quality information as necessary.
