This is an entry level position with potential to move into a Night Selector position. The primary responsibility is to wrap all outbound orders in the designated loading zones in compliance with company procedures and standards. This ensures the drivers have the product safely stowed and organized for maximum efficiency for the day’s deliveries. The role involves ensuring all pallets are built according to preferred methods and wrapped from the bottom of the pallet to the top cases on each pallet to avoid damage during transport. The operator must notify a supervisor of any issues and ensure work is completed in a productive and timely manner, keeping pallets in the work area wrapped according to dispatch times and on pace to avoid any hindrance in loader productivity. Additionally, the role requires verifying header labels are in the upper right-hand corner for easy location by the loader. The operator is responsible for maintaining a clean work area, free of debris at all times, and assisting loaders by unloading trailers staged in doors that contain pallets, blankets, straps, and any debris left in the trailer. This includes raising the door, locking the trailer to the dock, and lowering the dock plate. The position requires working in extreme temperatures of 100+ degrees and below freezing. The operator must ensure the Robo wrappers are clean and in good operational condition at all times, preventing excess shrink wrap buildup around the guide wheel, not using a box cutter to cut shrink wrap from rollers, not placing stickers on any part of the equipment, and wiping down the equipment at the end of each shift. The role also involves following all safety work practices and maintaining a clean and orderly dock area.
