About The Position

Second Nature Brands is seeking a Roasting Operator for their Kar’s Nuts Products facility in Madison Heights, Michigan. This role is crucial to the company's mission of growing from $500MM to $1+B in the next two years. The Roasting Operator will be responsible for roasting various nuts, including peanuts, almonds, and cashews, to support the company's vision of 'Making things better by nourishing people and nature.' The position operates Monday through Friday from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM, with potential for weekday or weekend overtime.

Requirements

18 years of age or older
High School diploma or equivalent
Basic math skills
Calculator and computer proficiency
English language proficiency
Self-directed
Ability to work well with peers and supervisors
Attention to detail
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment to keep production running efficiently.

Nice To Haves

Ability to operate Hi-Lo truck (preferred)
Hi-Lo Operators experience is preferred but not necessary, we will train you.

Responsibilities

Ensure high food safety standards by inspecting and removing non-conforming materials.
Manage proper cooking temperatures for oil usage on roasting machines.
Maintain accurate inventory counts by recording all essential information.
Assist Blending operators by loading and unloading materials by hand and Hi-Lo.
Clean and sanitize roasting equipment.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Conduct cleaning and complete cleaning verification logs.
Work with team lead and supervisor to hit performance targets.
Follow all GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), Q&FS (Quality & Food Safety), and OSHA Safety policies.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
