About The Position

Second Nature Brands is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join their team at the Kar’s Nuts Products facility in Madison Heights, Michigan. This role is crucial for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing machinery and equipment within a food manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical and electrical background to ensure efficient equipment operation while adhering to food safety and quality standards. This position is part of the supply chain team and will contribute to the company's growth objectives.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required.
2+ years of maintenance experience in a food manufacturing or industrial environment.
Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skill.
Must be able to read and write in English proficiently.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. repeatedly.
Standing for 8-10 hrs.
Ability to climb ladders, work at heights, and perform tasks in confined spaces.
Wear proper personal protective equipment (PPE) provided by company.

Nice To Haves

Technical degree or certification in maintenance, mechatronics, or industrial technology preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on production equipment, packaging machinery, conveyors, boilers, refrigeration systems, and other facility infrastructure.
Conduct preventive maintenance and predictive maintenance to ensure equipment reliability.
Respond to emergency breakdowns and provide timely resolutions to maintain production efficiency.
Follow and enforce safety protocols, including lockout/tagout.
Work closely with production and quality teams to ensure equipment operates in compliance with SQF (Quality & Food Safety), and OSHA Safety.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, parts inventory, and equipment performance.
Assist in equipment installation, modifications, and continuous improvement projects.
Adhere to FDA, SQF (Quality & Food Safety), and OSHA Safety policies.
Follow all GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices).
Maintain clean and safe work area.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
