About The Position

The Roadway Programs Technician 1 role with the Department of Transportation offers a chance to build strong skills in supporting safe and efficient roadway operations. Requirements

  • One year of experience as a Technical Assistant (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • One year of experience in analysis of data utilized in planning and scheduling of work, materials and equipment and graduation from high school or GED equivalent; or
  • An Associate's Degree in a field of Business Administration, Computer Science, Highway Engineering Technology or other closely related program.; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • Must meet the PA residency requirement.
  • Must be able to perform essential job functions.
  • Must pass a background investigation.

Nice To Haves

  • Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within three months of graduating with a qualifying degree.

Responsibilities

  • Review inventory data and analyze monthly usage reports to support planning and accuracy
  • Manage receipt, storage, and distribution of repair parts, supplies, and consumable items
  • Update inventory records and ensure items are issued and tracked correctly
  • Prepare purchase requests, code purchasing card transactions, and resolve issues with orders
  • Check stock levels, conduct physical inventories, and coordinate with district staff to reconcile discrepancies
  • Log shipments, inspect received goods, and prepare outgoing materials for transport
