About The Position

GAI Consultants is seeking a Roadway Permitting Technician (Associate Administrative Professional 1) to join their Energy Business Sector, focusing on oil and gas, electrical transmission, and renewable energy initiatives. This role involves assisting with various Roadway Permitting duties, including client and agency coordination, preparing permit applications, developing drawings, creating deliverables, and monitoring budgets. Requirements

  • Possess a valid driver's license.
  • Be able to travel to project sites and agency offices.
  • Occasional overnight stay may be required.

  • Possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Possess effective oral and written communication skills; interacts with other staff; interacts with all GAI staff, outside vendors and clients.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize Bluebeam Revu and AutoCAD to generate drawings and supplemental documents.
  • Create and manage spreadsheets using Excel.
  • Lead and train staff to perform field visits to client sites to obtain photos, physical measurements, and assess site conditions.
  • Work independently on a project basis.
  • Coordinate with internal staff, clients, and agencies.
  • Travel to project sites and agency offices.
  • Wear and work in Personal Protection Equipment.
  • Lift up to 30 lbs.
  • Begin to implement roadway permitting support by providing higher-level tasks supporting operations.
  • Collect and analyze internal and external information to support roadway permitting.
  • Plan and coordinate detailed aspects of roadway permitting support projects.
  • Prepare project scopes, schedules, and plans for assigned projects.
  • Attend project meetings and assist with meeting minutes.
  • Mentor junior staff by providing guidance, explaining responsibilities, and reviewing work products.
  • Facilitate interaction among staff.
  • Interact closely and effectively with Project Team, clients, and agencies.
  • Interact and advise during internal and external project meetings.
  • Communicate effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
