About The Position
Engineering firm is seeking a Roadway Engineer/Project Manager for their Raleigh office! This role involves designing and planning for highway and local road projects, ensuring high technical standards, mentoring junior staff, and managing project timelines and budgets. The position also requires building and maintaining client relationships and collaborating with other teams to execute transportation projects.
Requirements
- BS in Engineering from an ABET-accredited College or University
- PE License in North Carolina
- Proficient in the design, preparation, and delivery of roadway design plans
- Familiar with AASHTO, FHWA, and NCDOT standards
- Experience with MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer, and AutoCAD
- Prior experience managing projects (developing proposals and overseeing project timelines and budgets)
- Must be authorized to work in the USA without sponsorship
Nice To Haves
- NCDOT design experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Design and plan preparation for both highway and local road projects
- Ensure that plans meet the highest technical standards through internal quality reviews
- Mentor/train junior staff
- Assist in preparing and negotiating project fee proposals
- Prepare design schedules, construction cost estimates, and deliver staged project submittals on time and within budget
- Build/maintain client relationships
- Assist with contract negotiations when necessary
- Collaborate with other teams/staff to successfully execute transportation projects
