Roadway Engineer II
About The Position
The Roadway Engineer II assists with producing and modifying design calculations, technical reports, engineering plans, and specifications for assigned projects. The role performs research, development, calculations, design, and delivery in partnership with the project team, applying engineering techniques, procedures, and design criteria to projects of varying size and complexity. The engineer uses technical knowledge and experience to assist in executing and evaluating project designs, and develops conceptual and detailed designs and calculations using current drawing and technical tools, programs, and software. As a team member, this position contributes to successful delivery of a diverse range of projects for HNTB clients.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering and 2 years of relevant experience, or a master's degree in Engineering and 1 year of relevant experience.
- Proficiency in applying engineering, geometric, and algebraic principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and MicroStation and/or OpenRoads.
Nice To Haves
- Engineer in Training (EIT) certification.
- Knowledge of MicroStation and/or OpenRoads.
Responsibilities
- Complete assigned work within the provided schedule and number of hours.
- Prepare and/or modify selected portions of project reports, plans, designs, and calculations.
- Develop project quantities and assist with cost estimates.
- Assist engineering teams with organization and administrative support of design files.
- Independently complete tasks including research, data collection, field investigations, project development, and design.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
