Roadway Design Engineer - EIT
About The Position
We are looking for a Roadway Design Engineer (EIT) in Kansas City, KS. This role involves applying engineering knowledge to assist in the design of freeways, interchanges, roadways, streets, intersections, roundabouts, and other transportation-related infrastructure. The engineer will perform engineering calculations from preliminary to final design, work with the project team to develop plans, specifications, reports, and cost estimates, and utilize a methodical approach to problem-solving. Responsibilities include working independently or as part of a team, communicating clearly through drawings, documents, reports, and verbal exchange, and performing and coordinating plan reviews to ensure accuracy and quality. Site investigations may also be conducted, along with assisting project engineers and managers with assignments.
Requirements
- B.S. in Civil Engineering.
- EIT certification is required or will be obtained within 6 months.
- 0 to 4 years of roadway design experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong problem Solver.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Nice To Haves
- Experienced utilizing MicroStation a plus.
- Experience with Open Roads Designer a plus.
Responsibilities

- May conduct site investigations, as well as other responsibilities associated with this position.
- Assist project engineers and project managers with assignments as needed.
