About The Position

Requirements

• Two years of experience in technical landscaping, roadside development, or soil conservation work; and graduation from high school
• One year as a Roadside Technician 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration)
• One year experience in technical landscaping or roadside development activities and an Associate's Degree in agricultural, forestry, landscape technology, or a related field
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training
• Possession of a Class C non-commercial driver's license
• Meet the PA residency requirement
• Able to perform essential job functions

Responsibilities

• Contract Planning: Research contract needs and analyze historical usage to prepare moderately complex specifications
• Field Investigations: Conduct site reviews for mowing, tree work, litter pickup, landscaping, and rest area concerns
• Cost Estimation: Prepare cost and quantity estimates and create bid proposals for roadside maintenance work
• Contract Oversight: Monitor contractor progress, verify compliance with requirements, and adjust schedules when needed
• Equipment Inspection: Perform pre service inspections on contractor equipment before work begins
• Record Maintenance: Track budgets, usage data, and daily field activities to maintain accurate roadside maintenance records
