About The Position
This position supports construction and road maintenance activities involving materials such as asphalt, dirt, and concrete. The role helps maintain city infrastructure by maintaining street and traffic signs, assisting concrete crews, and operating various equipment and vehicles. The employee contributes to safe and efficient public roadways and supports seasonal operations, including snow and water removal.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Six months of work-related experience in road work, general labor, equipment operation, or a similar position; an equivalent combination of education and/or experience is acceptable.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Valid CDL, Class B or higher, required within 11 months of employment.
Responsibilities
- Perform construction and road work.
- Assist with forming, placing, and finishing concrete.
- Maintain street and traffic signs.
- Drive and operate equipment and vehicles.
- Load trucks and transport construction materials.
- Perform minor maintenance on heavy trucks.
- Perform snow and water removal as needed.
