About The Position
Sunbelt Rentals is seeking a Road Mechanic/Technician to perform preventive maintenance, diagnose equipment problems, and make advanced repairs at customer locations. The role aims to keep equipment operating safely and effectively while avoiding downtime. Equipment varies by location and may include aerial work platforms, general construction tools and equipment, large-scale power generators, pumps, HVAC systems, and oil and gas equipment. The position offers work on a variety of equipment in remote locations, opportunities to develop skills for a career in service or operations management, and work with a safety-focused team. Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
- Knowledge of hydraulic systems and troubleshooting fundamentals.
- Knowledge of electrical systems and troubleshooting fundamentals.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to bend, squat, crouch, reach, lift 50 pounds or more, and work indoors or outdoors as required.
Nice To Haves
- Some trade school or equivalent training.
- 1–2 years of mechanic experience with diesel equipment, heavy construction equipment, or specialty-lines equipment such as large-scale generators, pumps, HVAC, or oil and gas equipment.
- Mechanic’s tools of the trade may be needed.
- Bilingual ability (Spanish or another language) may be required based on location needs.
- A CDL license may be required in some locations.
