About The Position

Sunbelt Rentals is seeking a Road Mechanic/Technician to perform preventive maintenance, diagnose, and make advanced repairs on equipment at customer locations. This role aims to minimize downtime and involves working on a variety of makes, models, and equipment, potentially in challenging remote locations. The fleet primarily includes Aerial Work Platforms, general construction tools, and equipment. Specialty locations may also have large-scale power generators, pumps, HVAC systems, and oil/gas related equipment. This position offers opportunities to develop new skills for a career track in service or operation management within a safety-focused environment.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED required.
1-2 years of mechanic experience with diesel equipment, heavy construction equipment or specialty lines equipment (large-scale generators, pumps, HVAC or Oil & Gas equipment) based on role strongly preferred.
Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
Knowledge of hydraulic systems and troubleshooting fundamentals.
Knowledge of electrical systems and troubleshooting fundamentals.
Ability to be flexible with changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
May need to provide mechanic’s tools of trade.

Nice To Haves

Some trade school or equivalent training desired.
CDL license may be required in some locations.
Bilingual (Spanish or Other) may be required based on location needs.

Responsibilities

Perform preventive maintenance on equipment.
Diagnose equipment issues.
Make advanced repairs on equipment at customer locations.
Ensure equipment is repaired in the safest and most effective way possible to avoid downtime.
