About The Position
Sunbelt Rentals is seeking a Road Mechanic/Technician to perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on equipment in the safest and most effective way possible to avoid downtime. The role involves working on a variety of makes, models, and equipment in challenging remote locations, developing new skills for a career track in service or operation management, and working with an incredible team in a safety-focused environment. The fleet varies by location but primarily includes Aerial Work Platforms, general construction tools and equipment. Specialty lines locations may have a fleet of large-scale power-generators, pumps, HVAC systems, and oil/gas related equipment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 3-5 years of mechanic experience with diesel equipment, heavy construction equipment or specialty lines equipment (large-scale generators, pumps, HVAC or Oil & Gas equipment) strongly preferred.
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
- 21 years of age.
- CDL license may be required in some locations.
- May need to provide mechanic’s tools of trade.
- Knowledge of hydraulic systems and troubleshooting fundamentals.
- Knowledge of electrical systems and troubleshooting fundamentals.
- Ability to be flexible with changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Bilingual (Spanish or Other) may be required based on location needs.
- Fluency in both English & French.
- Proficiency in English is necessary to effectively communicate with clients and colleagues across North America, respond to English inquiries and ensure clear internal collaboration with our team.
