Road Mechanic 2
About The Position
Sunbelt Rentals is seeking a Road Mechanic to perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on equipment in the safest and most effective way possible to avoid downtime. This role involves working on a variety of makes, models, and equipment, potentially in challenging remote locations. The fleet primarily includes Aerial Work Platforms, general construction tools, and equipment. Specialty lines locations may also have large-scale power generators, pumps, HVAC systems, and oil/gas related equipment. This position offers opportunities for career development in service or operation management within a safety-focused environment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 3-5 years of mechanic experience with diesel equipment, heavy construction equipment, or specialty lines equipment (large-scale generators, pumps, HVAC, or Oil & Gas equipment) strongly preferred.
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
- May need to provide mechanic’s tools of trade.
- Knowledge of hydraulic systems and troubleshooting fundamentals.
- Knowledge of electrical systems and troubleshooting fundamentals.
- Ability to be flexible with changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- 21 years of age & CDL license may be required in some locations.
- Bilingual (Spanish or Other) may be required based on location needs.

- Related experience may include: Shop Mechanic, Mechanic, Technician, Service Foreman, Service Manager, Shop Manager, Mechanic Supervisor, Technician Supervisor, Lead Mechanic, Lead Technician, Diesel Technician, Diesel Mechanic, Service Technician, Heavy Equipment Mechanic, Hydraulic Technician, Hydraulic Mechanic, ASE Certified Mechanic, IFPS Certified Technician.
