The Road Service Technician position requires mechanical inclination and experience in semi-trailer repairs, including brakes, electrical systems, floor repair, tires, welding, hydraulics, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and modifications. The role involves performing routine maintenance and adjustments on trailing equipment according to manufacturer and company schedules. Technicians must be able to access all areas of the equipment, including working in, on, or under parts of trailers. The job requires the ability to safely walk and stand for extended periods on various surfaces, including outdoors in inclement weather, and to lift objects up to 50 lbs frequently and over 75 lbs occasionally. Physical activities include walking, reaching, bending, climbing, pushing, pulling, twisting, squatting, and kneeling. Responsibilities also include maintaining shop cleanliness, ensuring safety and compliance, and adhering to DOT, EPA, interstate Authority, and OSHA regulations. The technician will perform safety inspections, prepare documentation, follow company policies for repairs, and participate in training programs. Prompt daily attendance is required.
