About The Position

Primarily responsible is assisting in the installation or repair of several systems or components of the race car, such as brakes, drivetrain, suspension, steering, or cooling system. Requirements

  • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) required
  • 2+ years of auto mechanic experience required
  • Strong mechanical knowledge required
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Thorough understanding of mechanical components and car systems
  • Knowledge of dial calipers, and basic measuring tools
  • Familiar with body and chassis repair
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule
  • Ability to assess and react to situations in a fast-paced stressful environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Skills to work independently, and operate well under pressure to meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to identify and propose solutions to complex issues
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Must be willing to travel

Nice To Haves

  • Welding ability is preferred
  • Basic computer skills preferred

Responsibilities

  • Follow checklists to ensure all important parts are examined, including driveline, steering systems, brake and fuel systems, suspension, and other potentially troublesome areas
  • Assist with NASCAR inspection process
  • Complete suspension and drive train changes as needed
  • Install the engine, gear, and transmission
  • Assist in examination of all key parts and components to determine extent of damage or malfunctions including belts, hoses, steering systems, brake and fuel systems, wheel bearings, and other potentially troublesome areas
  • Assist with repair, replacement, and brake adjustments
  • Assist with repair or replacement of such as gauges, gears, blowers, and bearings
  • Disassemble of units and inspect parts for wear, using micrometers, calipers, and gauges
  • Maintain cleanliness of work area
  • Other duties as assigned by Manager
