About The Position

Sunbelt Rentals is seeking a Road Mechanic to perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on equipment in the safest and most effective way possible to avoid downtime. The fleet varies by location and primarily includes aerial work platforms, general construction tools, and equipment. Specialty-lines locations may also have large-scale power generators, pumps, HVAC systems, and oil and gas-related equipment. The role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of makes, models, and equipment, including in remote locations, and to develop skills for a career in service or operations management. The work is performed in a safety-focused environment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record.
• Knowledge of hydraulic systems and troubleshooting fundamentals.
• Knowledge of electrical systems and troubleshooting fundamentals.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to bend, squat, crouch, reach, lift 50 pounds or more, and work indoors or outdoors as required.
• May need to provide mechanic’s tools of the trade.

Nice To Haves

• Some trade school or equivalent training.
• 3–5 years of mechanic experience with diesel equipment, heavy construction equipment, or specialty-lines equipment such as large-scale generators, pumps, HVAC, or oil and gas equipment.
• A CDL license may be required in some locations.
• Bilingual ability (Spanish or another language) may be required based on location needs.
