About The Position

The Road Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and improvement of all Conservancy roads, shoulders, drainage infrastructure, signage, and stormwater management systems throughout the development. This position serves as the Conservancy's primary equipment operator and oversees a road maintenance crew to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and within budget. The Road Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for maintaining compliance with all applicable safety regulations, environmental requirements, and Conservancy standards while providing leadership, training, and oversight to road maintenance personnel.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in road maintenance, excavation, construction, public works, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience leading crews of five or more employees.
  • Experience operating excavators, loaders, skid steers, dump trucks, trailers, and related heavy equipment.
  • Knowledge of roadway maintenance, drainage systems, culverts, erosion control, and stormwater management.
  • Experience with project planning, material estimation, budgeting, and contractor coordination.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA safety requirements and safe equipment operation.
  • Strong organizational, leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

  • Experience with road construction and asphalt maintenance.
  • Knowledge of SWPPP compliance and environmental regulations.
  • Snowcat grooming experience.
  • Diesel equipment maintenance and repair experience.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain all road shoulders and asphalt surfaces throughout the development.
  • Inspect and repair road signage, guardrails, culverts and drainage channels.
  • Identify and address road hazards, erosion issues, drainage concerns, and infrastructure deficiencies.
  • Coordinate routine and preventative maintenance programs to maximize the lifespan of road assets.
  • Monitor roadway conditions and prioritize repairs based on safety, operational needs, and budget considerations.
  • Ensure compliance with Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) requirements and environmental regulations.
  • Inspect drainage systems, detention areas, culverts, and erosion control measures.
  • Implement corrective actions to maintain environmental compliance and protect Conservancy assets.
  • Supervise and lead a team of five or more employees.
  • Delegate daily work assignments and monitor project progress.
  • Maintain work orders, maintenance records, inspections, and project documentation.
  • Train staff on equipment operation, safety procedures, maintenance practices, and Conservancy standards.
  • Ensure all team members maintain compliance with OSHA regulations and Conservancy safety policies.
  • Serve as the Conservancy's primary heavy equipment operator.
  • Operate and maintain excavators, loaders, skid steers, dump trucks, trailers and other construction equipment.
  • Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance on equipment.
  • Coordinate repairs and maintenance with vendors and fleet personnel as needed.
  • Ensure equipment is operated safely and efficiently.
  • Assist in planning and executing capital improvement projects.
  • Develop project scopes, obtain contractor bids, and evaluate proposals.
  • Calculate and estimate material quantities for road, drainage, and infrastructure projects.
  • Source materials and coordinate deliveries to support project schedules.
  • Monitor project budgets, timelines, and contractor performance.
  • Ensure projects are completed within established budgets and designated timeframes.
