We are looking for a Road Foreman for our Baltimore, Maryland facility. The Road Foreman of Engines pursuant to the conditions set forth in 49 CFR 240, is responsible for the overall supervision of all Locomotive Engineers. The candidate will instruct, discipline and train and evaluate the skill and performance of the Company’s Engineers. Administer the Company’s engineer training program, certify and/or re-certify all locomotive engineers, maintain all engineer training and certification records, engineer disciplinary action records and records of specific qualifications of each engineer. Analyze or assist in analyzing data from locomotive’s event recorders, both for post-accident investigations and for random reviews of individual engineer’s performance. Perform operational tests as required by 49 CFR 217.9. As part of on-going training and supervision, the Road Foreman of Engines will establish a schedule to periodically ride with all engineers on their regularly scheduled runs as well as such other duties as may be prescribed from time to time by the Railroad Operations Managers. Any efficiency tests performed by the Trainmaster or the Road Foreman of Engines on CSXT or Amtrak ROW must include CSXT or Amtrak personnel, as appropriate, and be coordinated through the appropriate CSXT or Amtrak department. Primary Activities and Responsibilities Ensure the overall supervision of all on-board crew members. This includes job instructions, training, evaluations, accident investigations and discipline when necessary. Perform the functions of a Locomotive Engineer & Conductor as required. This person is required to perform regular operational tests as required by 49 CFR 217.9; Directs the training and continued qualification of Locomotive Engineers & Conductors. Appropriately tests and evaluates the knowledge and skills of Locomotive Engineers and Conductors. Maintain Operations Department rule compliance through regular observations and tests. Coordinate any efficiency testing to be done on host railroad with the appropriate personnel who are required to be present during testing; Maintain the Company’s program of operational tests and inspections as well as records of performed tests, results of those tests and any associated required correspondence. Analyze or assist in analyzing data from locomotive event recorders, both for post-accident investigations and for random reviews of individual engineer performance. Training Training will be provided in Baltimore, MD upon hire.
