About The Position

Baylor Scott & White Medical Center Temple is hiring an experienced seasonal Registered Nurse for its Medical ICU night shift. This is a 13-week contract scheduled from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., with full-time status at 36 hours per week. The advertised pay is $51.00 per hour plus a completion bonus. The Seasonal RN follows the nursing model to manage and evaluate patient care, recognize patient needs, create and implement care plans, and monitor progress. The nurse uses clinical expertise to help patients navigate the healthcare system safely and reduce complications. Requirements

A degree from a recognized nursing program.
A minimum of 2 years of ICU RN experience.
A valid Registered Nurse license.
Ability to obtain Basic Life Support certification within the first 30 days of employment.
Comprehensive knowledge of nursing and patient-care standards and procedures.
Effective communication skills and the ability to interact with diverse groups.
Problem-solving and critical-thinking skills to provide quality patient care.
Flexibility and clear, timely communication about changes in patient health conditions.

Responsibilities

Conduct thorough patient assessments using sound judgment and clinical reasoning, following practice standards.
Identify patient and family needs and develop, implement, and evaluate nursing care plans, making adjustments as needed.
Create safe, therapeutic environments for patients, families, and staff.
Manage emotional and physical pain to promote recovery and prevent unnecessary suffering.
Monitor patient progress and communicate changes in patient health conditions promptly and efficiently.
Help patients navigate the healthcare system safely and reduce complications.
