About The Position

This role requires a knowledgeable Registered Nurse (RN) proficient in nursing practices, procedures, and the governing laws and regulations within a long-term care facility. The RN must be capable of independent decision-making, possess strong leadership skills, and work collaboratively with and supervise nursing staff. Key responsibilities include developing and implementing the nursing department's goals, objectives, policies, and procedures, while adhering to company policies. The position demands the ability to deliver basic nursing care, conduct ongoing resident assessments, revise care plans as needed, and provide clinical supervision to LPNs and CNAs. Accurate and timely charting, dependable attendance, and the ability to concentrate, use reasoning, and good judgment are essential. The RN will function within an interdisciplinary team, monitoring and reporting resident conditions, maintaining detailed records, and interpreting diagnostic tests. They will also modify treatment plans, coordinate care with the healthcare team, oversee resident care aspects like diet and physical activity, provide health education to residents and families, prepare residents for examinations, manage supplies and equipment, and assist in resident evacuations.

Requirements

• Knowledgeable of nursing practices and procedures.

• Ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the Nursing department.
• Understand and follow company policies, including harassment and complaint procedures.
• Able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
• Able to knowledgeably and competently deliver basic nursing care to residents.
• Able to evaluate resident’s needs through ongoing assessment and revises care plan based on changes in resident’s condition.
• Able to provide clinical supervision to LPNs and CNAs.
• Able to chart appropriately and timely.

• Able to instruct individuals, families on topics such as health education, disease prevention, and develop health improvement programs.
• Able to prepare residents for, and assist with, examinations and treatments.
• Able to prepare rooms, sterile instruments, equipment and supplies, and ensure that stock of supplies is maintained.
• Able to assist in the evacuation of residents.
