About The Position

Fairmount Behavioral Health System is seeking a Fulltime Registered Nurse to join their team. Fairmount is a peaceful, therapeutic environment located on a 27-acre wooded campus, bordering Fairmount Park in Philadelphia. It serves as a major regional resource for children, adolescents, and adults with psychiatric and behavioral problems, as well as alcohol and drug dependency needs. The facility offers one of the leading alcohol and drug detox and rehab programs in Philadelphia, specializing in co-occurring psychiatric and chemical dependency treatment. The Registered Nurse will supervise the delivery of nursing care, prescribe, coordinate, and delegate care within the multidisciplinary treatment team plan. The RN is accountable for nursing care activities on a shift basis and responsible for promoting and enhancing professional nursing practice on the unit, adhering to the ANA Standards of Practice for Psychiatric Mental Health Care and the Nursing Board of Pennsylvania.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
Licensure and registration by the Pennsylvania Board of Nurse Examiners as a registered nurse.
Certification in CPR, AED and First Aid.
Must possess knowledge of general and psychiatric nursing processes, therapeutic relationships and processes, age specific growth and development, limit setting, behavior and crisis management.

Nice To Haves

BSN preferred.
One (1) year prior psychiatric nursing experience preferred.
Prior experience working with specific psychiatric patient population preferred.

Responsibilities

Supervises the delivery of nursing care provided by professional and support nursing staff on a designated unit.
Prescribes, coordinates, and delegates care utilizing the nursing process, integrated into the multidisciplinary treatment team plan of care.
Is accountable for nursing care activities on a shift basis.
