About The Position

The RN works in the Imaging department and assists with coronary CT angiography (CCTA). The nurse provides direct patient care within the scope of licensure and in accordance with company policy, and coordinates patient care and physician access while serving as a liaison among patients, staff, and physicians. The role supports efficient patient flow and accurate preparation, documentation, and follow-through for patient visits. Cross-training for breast imaging and assisting with breast biopsies is preferred. The schedule is Tuesdays from 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The nurse may need to commute to satellite offices as needed. The role includes exposure to physical demands, environmental risks, and blood-borne pathogens described in the posting.

Requirements

Associate degree required.
New Jersey State Nursing License required.
BLS certification required.
0–1 years of experience stated.
Ability to communicate in English, orally and in writing.
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
Ability to perform diverse work assignments accurately within time limitations.
Ability to use problem-solving, critical-thinking, and priority-setting skills.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Cross-training for breast imaging and assisting with breast biopsies preferred.
2–4 years of experience preferred.
Experience with standard office equipment (phone, fax, copy machine, scanner, email/voice mail) preferred.
Experience with standard office technology in a Windows-based environment preferred.
Experience with patient care equipment preferred.
Experience with EHR, Practice Management System, and departmental/ancillary systems preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist with coronary CT angiography (CCTA).
Assist physicians and staff with daily coordination of patient care and physician access.
Serve as a liaison between patients, staff, and physicians.
Maintain efficient patient flow.
Deliver direct patient care within the scope of licensure and in accordance with company policy.
Collect and accurately label laboratory specimens according to departmental guidelines.
Prioritize patient care by implementing physician orders and nursing procedures.
Prepare patients and pertinent information for visits.
Communicate problems, concerns, and issues to the Office Supervisor or Manager promptly and appropriately.
Verify patient identity before providing or documenting care.
Use EHR tasking appropriately and in a timely manner.
Obtain and document required vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, height, and weight.
Administer injections according to protocol and accurately document them in the EHR.
Follow telephone triage protocols and document in the EHR.
Schedule appointments accurately according to department guidelines.
Follow universal safety precautions when administering medications and disposing of medical waste.
Review and update medication lists, follow prescription-control and refill procedures, and accurately document known allergies in the EHR.
Enter orders and schedule appointments in the Practice Management System and EHR.
Provide referrals and consultation orders appropriately and promptly in the Practice Management System and EHR.
Check and maintain emergency equipment logs according to policy.
Facilitate transitions of care to urgent care centers or hospitals.
Maintain proficiency with department-specific equipment, troubleshoot issues, and promptly report malfunctions.
Assist with ordering and maintaining supplies as assigned.
Demonstrate flexibility with various work schedules and perform other duties as required.
Commute to satellite offices as needed.
