About The Position

The RN is an integral member of the hospice interdisciplinary care team and provides home hospice nursing visits as needed, in rotation with teammates. The role includes patient care visits, assessing medical needs, liaising with physicians, attending deaths, responding to triage calls, and assisting with admissions. Hospice care is delivered according to accepted standards of practice and the organization’s mission, while reflecting the needs and concerns of patients and families. The RN helps blend hospice services into an integrated program of support and provides time for one-to-one coaching and education for patients and families. The position is based out of a facility in Northwest Arkansas or Northeast Oklahoma. It requires use of a personal vehicle and offers a night differential, mileage reimbursement, and a benefits package.

Requirements

Current unrestricted RN license in Arkansas, Oklahoma, or a compact state.
BLS certification.
Strong assessment skills, critical thinking, and a high level of problem-solving ability within a healthcare facility.
Strong documentation and communication skills.
Ability to stay calm and cope with human suffering and emergencies.
Personal vehicle, valid driver's license, and current auto insurance.

Nice To Haves

Hospice, home health, or acute care nursing experience.
Computer charting experience.

Responsibilities
