About The Position

The RN works on a 29-bed hospital inpatient unit staffed by registered nurses and CNA/CCTs, with a staffing matrix of one nurse to four to six patients. The unit cares for patients with medical and stable telemetry diagnoses, including COPD, sepsis, COVID and other respiratory illnesses, alcohol withdrawal, diabetes, and gastrointestinal bleeding. Telemetry patients are monitored remotely by a CCT. Ancillary support includes a Rapid Response Team, phlebotomists, EKG technicians, respiratory therapists, and physical and occupational therapists.

Requirements

• BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• ACLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• NIHSS certification; APEX is required before starting.
• At least 2 years of Medical Surgical/Telemetry experience.
• Pass a telemetry competency exam that includes identifying and measuring telemetry rhythm strips.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to patients with medical and stable telemetry diagnoses.
• Care for patients with conditions such as COPD, sepsis, COVID and other respiratory illnesses, alcohol withdrawal, diabetes, and gastrointestinal bleeding.
• Work with CNA/CCTs and ancillary staff in the inpatient unit.
