Under the general supervision of the Director and Clinical Manager, the RN is responsible for providing quality patient care using the nursing process, directing other nursing staff, and managing the operations of the assigned unit during their shift. This role involves patient assessment, care planning, documentation, medication administration, patient and family communication, and collaboration with other healthcare disciplines. The RN also plays a role in supervising patient care, coordinating unit operations, and ensuring compliance with hospital policies and procedures. Additionally, the position requires checking emergency equipment, potentially serving as a team leader or charge nurse, assisting with new personnel orientation, and communicating effectively with various internal and external stakeholders. The role also includes ensuring the proper segregation and safe disposal of hazardous pharmaceutical waste.
