Here, you will work alongside passionate physicians, nurses and other caregivers in a family-oriented, supportive environment. Martin South Hospital’s Emergency Department has multi-disciplinary care teams, and leading-edge technology needed to diagnose and treat patients efficiently and effectively, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. As an RN, you will deliver exceptional care throughout the patient care journey. In this role, you will interact directly with patients and their families, offering the opportunity to enhance their experience and provide healthcare education as needed. This is a fast-paced environment that will allow you to advance your nursing skills each day. Here, you will also have the opportunity to gain additional certifications and move into other positions such as Team Lead or other nursing leadership roles.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN program)
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or ALS American Red Cross certification upon hire or within one year of beginning work in the Emergency Department
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross upon hire or within one year of beginning work in the Emergency Department
  • One year of current acute care RN experience and/or Emergency Department experience OR licensed military RN experience
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC - adult) or Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC - pediatric) upon hire or within 24 months of beginning work in the Emergency Department

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care.
  • Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans.
  • Monitor, record, document and communicate patients’ conditions.
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
  • Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
  • Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
  • Educate patients and their families.
