About The Position

Thompson Health is seeking an RN to provide quality nursing patient care to Urgent Care patients under the supervision of providers and Practice Management. The RN will assess, plan, give, and document nursing care, assist providers with patients, administer medications and injections, and complete results and patient call backs. The role also involves assisting in the development and implementation of clinical nursing policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory agencies.

Requirements

Registered Nurse- New York license
Professionally mature, energetic and creative individual who demonstrates leadership qualities demanded in a rapidly changing health care environment.
Must maintain current BLS and ACLS certification.
Graduation from an approved school of nursing, required.
2-4 years of recent nursing experience required.
Minimum of 2 years family practice, urgent care, acute care, occupational medicine or outpatient care nursing experience.

Nice To Haves

Experience using an EMR preferred.

Responsibilities

Provides quality nursing patient care to Urgent Care patients under the supervision of the providers and Practice Management
Assess, plan, give and document nursing care
Assist the provider with patients, including the preparation of examination rooms, preparation of the patient for the visit, such as taking vital signs and explaining procedures
Administer medications and injection as prescribed, assist with special procedures, including minor procedures
Responsible for completion of all results and patient call backs within the scope of practice, following up with patients and the providers as appropriate
Assist in development and implementation of clinical nursing policies and procedures, working with appropriate system personnel to assure clinical operations comply with all Joint Commission, NYS DOH requirements and other regulatory agencies as applicable.
