Cleveland Clinic’s Neurological Institute is expanding with a new, one-million-square-foot, 15-floor, state-of-the-art facility on Main Campus designed to transform care for patients with complex neurological conditions, including spine injuries, epilepsy, movement disorders, multiple sclerosis and stroke. This innovative facility brings every stage of neurological care together under one roof, creating an exceptional environment for patients, families and caregivers. The new space will feature dedicated areas for outpatient services, surgery, stepdown care, intensive care, epilepsy monitoring, additional operating rooms and expanded ambulatory, infusion, imaging, EMG, sleep and rehabilitation services.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Diploma, ADN, or BSN)
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• New graduate RN or less than one year of RN experience
• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (ADN or BSN program)
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross
• One year of current acute care RN experience OR military RN experience

• Participate in a residency core curriculum based on surgery core learning needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care alongside a success coach.
• Establish and/or revise priorities for patient care (acuity of need, patient preference and resource availability).
• Respond to data indicating risk to patients’ health and initiate action to correct, reduce or prevent risk.
• Seek supervision, consultation and assistance when unable to perform safely and independently.
• Document in patients’ medical records.
• Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise individualized patient care plans.
• Monitor, record, document and communicate patient conditions.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
• Carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate patient discharge needs.
• Educate patients and families to support recovery and overall well-being.
