About The Position

Responsible for the delivery of patient care that promotes safety and well-being of all patients. Makes staff assignments as directed if serving in a Charge Nurse Role. Gives guidance and direction to personnel - LPN's, CNA's, and non-licensed personnel, provides direct patient care, assists in new staff orientation and collaborates with interdisciplinary team to meet patient needs. Assist in coordinating the operation of a shift on the nursing unit. This should be performed under the direction of the Nurse Manager and in accordance with the Georgia Professional Nurse Practice Act.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing.
  • Registered and Licensed by the State of Georgia.
  • Current certification in CPR, or completion of CPR course (AHA) within 60 days of employment.
  • ACLS certification, or ACLS obtained within 90 days of employment.
  • Proficient in verbal and written communication.
  • Able to work at a personal computer.
  • Able to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Able to lift, push, bend and carry loads of up to 50 pounds.
  • Able to lift and move patients.
  • Able to concentrate despite frequent interruptions.
  • Emotionally mature and able to function effectively under stress.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelors Degree of Nursing
  • At least 1 year of experience in a hospital or medically related environment with ER experience preferred.
  • PALS preferred.
