About The Position
The RN provides professional nursing care under the ANA scope of practice, using the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and discharge while incorporating patient- and family-centered care principles. Under the direction of the Nurse Leader and in accordance with Corewell Health policies and procedures, the RN provides quality patient care and recognizes how nursing care and patient/family partnerships affect outcomes. The RN incorporates patient and family input and goals into care planning, develops teaching strategies, and documents education and learning in the health record. This position is in the Staffing Office New Grad Float at Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital in Grand Rapids. The role is full time, scheduled for 36 hours per week, on a night shift from 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m., with variable workdays and every other weekend.
Requirements
- Associate degree in nursing.
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing required within five years.
- Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 90 days.
- Graduates from a non-accredited school of nursing must have at least one year of acute care experience or at least two years of experience in a licensed health care role, and must have successfully passed the NCLEX licensure examination.
Responsibilities

- Document education and learning appropriately in the health record.
