The Gerber Med Surg unit is a 13-bed unit, with 4 observation beds and 9 inpatient beds. The unit is currently undergoing a refresh, including new paint, flooring, and artwork in the halls and patient rooms, as well as a new nurses' station, breakroom, and staff bathroom. Gerber Med Surg serves the hospital's largest patient population and is a cornerstone of the facility. The unit offers telemedicine services in pulmonology, neurology, infectious disease, and wound care, with palliative care services coming soon. Services available on-site include MRI (6 days a week), CT, fluoroscopy, general and orthopedic surgery, care management, and medical social workers. A significant focus for the Gerber team is to maintain quality care locally. The Gerber ICU is an 11-bed unit, with 2 observation beds and 9 inpatient beds, and is also scheduled for a refresh. It is a mixed unit accommodating both Med/Surg and ICU patients. Telemedicine services are offered in pulmonology, neurology, infectious disease, wound care, and VICU, with telemedical palliative care services planned. On-site services include MRI (6 days a week), CT, fluoroscopy, general surgery, orthopedic surgery, care management, and medical social workers.
