About The Position

Monument Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for its Recovery Room in Rapid City, South Dakota. The nurse provides compassionate, patient-focused, relationship-centered care and contributes to the prevention or resolution of illness, disability, and injury; alleviates suffering; and advocates for patients in collaboration with interdisciplinary care teams, families, and support systems. The role requires independent nursing judgment and application of the nursing process in accordance with professional standards, organizational policies, and applicable laws and regulations. The nurse uses the ANA Nursing Process to assess patients and situations, determine diagnoses or issues, identify expected outcomes, develop and implement individualized care plans, coordinate care, promote health and safety, and evaluate progress. The position also follows the ANA Standards of Professional Performance, supports Monument Health’s purpose, vision, and values, practices within the legal scope of an RN, and uses relevant technology and software to document care and perform work-related tasks. The nurse continuously seeks ways to improve care delivery and performs other duties as assigned. This position has 36 scheduled weekly hours. Starting pay is $37.00–$46.25 per hour, determined by the applicant’s knowledge, skills, and experience. A $10,000 sign-on bonus is available for qualified candidates. The role requires working the schedules and hours assigned by the department.

Requirements

Completion of a nursing education program approved by a board of nursing.
Registered Nurse (RN) credential from the South Dakota Board of Nursing.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association within 60 days of hire or transfer.
Ability to work assigned schedules and hours as determined by the department.

Nice To Haves

Five or more years of Registered Nurse experience.
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.

Responsibilities

Collect comprehensive data relevant to the patient’s health and situation.
Analyze assessment data to determine diagnoses or issues.

Implement care plans and ensure patient progression along the plan.
Coordinate care delivery.

Integrate ethical provisions and research findings into practice.
Consider safety, effectiveness, cost, and impact when planning and delivering nursing services.
Provide leadership in the professional practice setting and profession.
Practice in an environmentally safe and healthy manner.
Practice within the legal scope of an RN and comply with the Code of Ethics for Nurses and applicable standards, policies, laws, and regulations.
Use applicable technology and software to support and document nursing activities and patient care, and access necessary work-related applications.
Seek opportunities to improve the quality of patient care through innovative and creative problem-solving.
Perform other duties as assigned.
