About The Position

Monument Health is hiring a Registered Nurse for Colorado Blvd Orthopedic Surgery in Spearfish, South Dakota. The RN provides compassionate, patient-focused, relationship-centered care and works collaboratively with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, patients, families, and support systems. The role applies the nursing process to assess patients, identify diagnoses and expected outcomes, plan and implement care, coordinate care delivery, and evaluate progress. The RN also supports health teaching, health promotion, patient advocacy, and the prevention or resolution of illness, disability, injury, and suffering. The nurse practices in accordance with ANA standards, the nursing Code of Ethics, applicable laws and regulations, and organizational policies. The role includes maintaining nursing knowledge and competency, contributing to quality improvement and the professional development of colleagues, integrating research and ethical considerations into practice, and using applicable technology and software to document care and access work-related systems. Requirements

Completion of a nursing education program approved by a board of nursing.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association within 60 days of hire or transfer.
Registered Nurse (RN) licensure through the South Dakota Board of Nursing, or the Wyoming Board of Nursing for Wyoming facilities.
Ability to work assigned schedules and hours as determined by the department.

Nice To Haves

Five or more years of Registered Nurse experience.
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.

Responsibilities

Collect comprehensive data relevant to the healthcare consumer’s health or situation.
Analyze assessment data to determine diagnoses or issues.
Identify expected outcomes for an individualized plan of care.
Develop plans prescribing strategies and alternatives to attain expected outcomes.
Implement the identified plan and ensure patient progression along the plan.
Coordinate care delivery.
Employ health teaching and health-promotion strategies to promote health and a safe environment.
Evaluate progress toward attainment of outcomes.
Enhance the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice and maintain knowledge and competency reflective of current nursing practice.
Evaluate personal nursing practice against professional standards, guidelines, statutes, rules, and regulations.
Contribute to the professional development of peers and colleagues.
Collaborate with patients, families, and others in nursing practice.
Integrate ethical provisions and research findings into practice.
Consider safety, effectiveness, cost, and impact when planning and delivering nursing services.
Provide leadership in the professional practice setting and the profession.
Practice in an environmentally safe and healthy manner and support Monument Health’s purpose, vision, and values.
Practice within the legal scope of a Registered Professional Nurse and deliver competent care consistent with applicable standards, policies, laws, and regulatory, accreditation, and certifying requirements.
Abide by the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses.
Use applicable technology and software to support and document nursing activities and patient care, and access work-related applications.
Seek opportunities to improve the quality of patient care through innovative and creative problem solving.
