About The Position

Coordinates clinical activities and nursing care and support for patients throughout the complete phase of treatment in the department. Assists with and oversees clinic flow while maintaining a safe environment. Assesses and oversees patients’ physical and emotional needs and takes appropriate interventions. Educates patients and families about radiation therapy side effects and other departmental procedures. Uses clinical judgment regarding patient symptoms and side effects and reports to the Radiation Oncologist as needed. Functions as a team player and participates in team meetings and activities.

Requirements

• Meet the requirements to be a licensed Registered Nurse in New York State.
• Hold a current Registered Nurse license and current New York State registration.
• Hold Health Care Provider BLS CPR Certification.
• For the Highland site only, be ACLS certified upon hire or obtain certification within six months of hire.
• Have basic computer skills.

• Oncology experience.
• Good IV skills.
