About this position: The Registered Nurse - Wound Care provides direct patient care of inpatients and/or outpatients. Assumes the primary responsibility and accountability for the delivery of patient care, including care provided by those directly under his/her direction, such as the Wound Care Technician and any other non-licensed provider of care. Will provide evaluations and treatments of patients primarily with wounds that may involve some invasive procedures.

Requirements

  • Hold a BSN or complete a BSN program within 5 years of hire date.
  • Nurse must make steady progress towards BSN completion.
  • RNs who are not yet enrolled in a BSN program, must apply to and be accepted into a BSN program within one year of hire.
  • Minimum of four (4) years of experience required.
  • Current Maryland license as RN or licensure in a compact state that allows practice in Maryland.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Wound Care Certification required within five (5) years of assuming role for outpatient role.
  • Must complete wound care competency approved by HCGH to perform sharp wound debridement for outpatient role.

Nice To Haves

  • One (1) year of wound care experience preferred in area of specialty.
