About The Position

The Registered Nurse will deliver competent and skilled care to patients and families according to their identified needs. Nursing care is based on the nursing process and augments the medical plan of treatment. The Registered Nurse will deliver care with a team-orientation, an emphasis on good customer relations, sound clinical judgment and appropriate decision-making abilities that take into consideration evidenced based practice. This role is for the Rehab/Transitional Care Unit, a 26-bed unit that cares for infants, children, and teens with a history of respiratory, neurological, and other illnesses requiring special care. This is a Winter Plan assignment for 2026-2027.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• 2 years RN experience or successful completion of a Cook Children's Winter Plan contract required.
• Current license to practice professional nursing in the State of Texas required.
• Current BLS required.
• Maintain primary residence within the state of Texas, along with all licenses and credentials required for your position throughout your employment.

Nice To Haves

• PALS or NRP strongly encouraged and if presented upon hire, must maintain certification without lapsing.
• Certification as necessary in certain areas in the Medical Center.
