Medina Hospital’s 2 South unit is a general medicine unit known for its compassionate, comprehensive, and patient-first patient care, highly skilled nursing team, and engaging work environment. Featuring 25 patient beds, Registered Nurses in this unit are responsible for managing pre-surgical patients and patients needing antibiotic treatment and wound care, performing advanced dressing changes, and assisting with bedside thoracentesis/paracentesis. As a Registered Nurse in this unit, you will quickly enhance your skillet caring for diverse populations of patients with varying medical/surgical needs and be a part of a multidisciplinary team. This RN position is part of Cleveland Clinic’s Weekender Flex Program and will require you to work two 12-hour shifts per weekend and one 12-hour shift during the week. While you are only working 36 hours a week, Cleveland Clinic will pay you for 44 hours of work and give you full-time status and benefits. This schedule allows caregivers to enjoy personal time during the week with family and friends and take care of any errands that will not interfere with a typical day shift schedule. A caregiver in this position works weekends + one day/night from 7:00 p.m. -- 7:30 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. – 7:30 p.m. with holiday requirements.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
  • If in a Critical Care area an Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) Certification must be presented upon hire or within first year of hire
  • One year of current acute care RN experience OR military RN experience

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care.
  • Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans.
  • Monitor, record, document and communicate patients’ conditions.
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
  • Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
  • Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
  • Educate patients and their families.
