About The Position

The RN - Vascular Access shall provide nursing care to all patient types and serve as an expert clinician, role model, consultant, change agent, and facilitator. The RN shall be responsible for the insertion of ultrasound guided IV placement, Midline, and PICC lines for a patient population from birth to life span. The RN will serve as a liaison for the physician, nursing staff, and ancillary departments, as well as, external agencies for PICC/Midline placement. This individual will support the Baptist Health System and Nursing Strategic Plans within the framework of the mission, vision, and values of Baptist Health. This position may have additional duties assigned that are within the scope of the role.

Requirements

  • Active RN licensure
  • BLS required
  • Minimum 2 years nursing experience
  • Knowledge on assessing, monitoring and management of all vascular access devices.
  • Demonstrates competency in care and maintenance of all vascular access devices.
  • Ability to observe, assesses, and record work, safety and infection control standards.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to foster a cooperative work environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to resolve customer complaints and concerns.

Nice To Haves

  • BSN preferred
  • Previous vascular ultrasound experience preferred
  • Additional certifications (ACLS, PALS, NRP, additional specialty certification) may be required depending upon area assigned
  • PICC certification must be obtained within 12 months of hire to role
