This role is for a talented RN-Vascular Access, working 32-40 flex hours on the day shift with every 5th weekend and holiday rotation, from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, located at the Vascular Access - St. Luke’s Hospital in New Bedford, MA.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing or equivalent is required.
  • Current RN Licensure in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts is required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is also required.
  • Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID 19 virus or to be exempt from the requirement for medical or personal reasons by signing a statement certifying you are choosing to be exempt from vaccination once hired.

Nice To Haves

  • Peripherally Inserted Central Catheter (PICC) and Midline catheter intravenous insertion trained and skill certification with 3CG technology preferred.
  • Ultrasound Guided IV insertion skill and certification strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Under direction of the Director or Manager, perform a variety of duties involving coordinating nursing care related to intravenous therapies for patients.
  • Participate in patient and family teaching.
  • Provide leadership by working cooperatively with nursing and other patient team personnel in maintaining standards for professional nursing practice within the Vascular Access Department.
  • Has knowledge and skills necessary to provide care, which is appropriate to the age group of patients regularly served.
  • Responsible and accountable for providing for placement of vascular access devices within inpatient and outpatient hospital setting.
  • Demonstrates extensive knowledge of the anatomy, especially the anatomy of the cardiovascular area.
