About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) in Urgent Care is responsible for a variety of patient care duties including collecting assessment data, administering medications and injections, and performing other patient care procedures according to established criteria. This role involves assisting providers during treatments, tests, and examinations, performing EKGs, simple lab tests, and collecting venous blood specimens. The RN maintains patient flow, provides patient and family education, documents patient care, responds to phone calls, performs telephone triaging, and follows up on patient care as needed. Additionally, the RN reviews and maintains charts and participates in Quality and Performance Improvement initiatives. The position may require working alternate shifts and weekends. Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • BSN or upon hire BSN completion agreement for enrollment in an accredited BSN program.
  • Licensed as an RN in State of practice.
  • Approved CPR or BLS certification required within 90 days.
  • Other certification per department requirement eligible: ACLS.
  • Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner, gather and analyze information skillfully, develop alternative solutions, work well in group problem solving situations, and use reason even when dealing with emotional topics.
  • Ability to assess own strengths and weaknesses, pursue training and development opportunities, strive to continuously build knowledge and skills, and share expertise with others.

  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Knowledge of Database software.
  • Knowledge of Word Processing software.
