About The Position
The RN Unit Care Coordinator oversees the daily clinical operations of an assigned unit in Piedmont Crossing’s skilled nursing environment. The role ensures high-quality resident care in accordance with regulatory requirements, organizational standards, and best nursing practices. It provides clinical leadership, coaching, and performance management for nursing staff while supporting a positive, collaborative work environment. The coordinator also serves as a clinical resource, advocate, and mentor for residents, families, and team members.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Minimum of three years of Registered Nurse experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting.
- Current Registered Nurse license in the State of North Carolina.
- Current CPR certification.
- Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills.
- Ability to lead, coach, and motivate nursing staff.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of long-term care regulations and standards of practice.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
- Commitment to person-centered care and exceptional customer service.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or a related healthcare field.
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and oversee resident care services on the assigned unit.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and facility policies and procedures.
- Supervise, coach, and support nursing team members to promote clinical excellence and professional development.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback to staff.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized resident care plans.
- Monitor resident conditions and respond appropriately to changes in health status.
- Foster positive relationships with residents, families, physicians, and team members.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and support organizational goals.
- Provide direct resident care as needed to ensure continuity of services and resident well-being.
