This role involves utilizing the nursing process and critical thinking in collaboration with interdisciplinary team members in caring for patients. The RN Traveler performs assessments, planning, intervention, and evaluation of care, administers prescribed medications and treatments, and ensures accurate and comprehensive documentation. They develop and execute patient care plans, provide patient and family education, and participate in performance improvement activities. The role also involves utilizing clinical expertise to support patient care, resolving systems breakdowns, and managing complex situations with a focus on patient safety and experience. The RN Traveler is expected to positively influence professional and organizational environments, engage in personal development, and support continuous learning and growth. They also participate in peer review and the professional nursing continuum. For Clinic and Ambulatory RNs, this includes maintaining patient flow, responding to telephone calls, and performing telephone triage.
