About The Position

Join Baylor Scott and White Medical Center - Grapevine be part of something better! This role involves managing the Trauma Performance Enhancement Program, overseeing trauma care services to ensure excellent attention and recovery for patients, and organizing performance enhancement activities. This includes gathering information, researching, tracking progress, and comparing data with benchmarks. You will work with the Trauma Program Manager and Trauma Medical Director to create a Trauma Process Improvement Program, ensuring the trauma program meets local regulations and accreditation standards. Tracking patient care issues in trauma process improvement is vital, ensuring resolution for each one. You are expected to take part in assessing, developing, implementing, and evaluating processes and education improvements for trauma patient care. Integrating the trauma registry into the trauma PI process is a crucial part of your role. Additionally, you will be tasked with fusing trauma PI strategies with broader hospital or system PI strategies. You will update Trauma Department Dashboards and review PI project results for dashboard metrics to assess. You will work with the team to create trauma education programs that follow new trauma care guidelines and are based on research and evidence, addressing specific educational needs identified through trauma registry data. You would provide trauma education in the Emergency Department and coordinate outreach education programs like ATLS, ATCN, and TNCC. There will be opportunities for you to participate in community and hospital outreach programs.

Requirements

  • 3 years RN experience
  • 1 year of recent ICU or ER in a Trauma Level 1 or 2 hospital
  • BSN
  • BLS certification
  • ACLS certification
  • ENPC within 180 days or PALS within 30 days
  • ATCH or TNCC within 180 days
  • Trauma Outcome Performance Improvement Course within 12 months
  • Registered nurse (RN)
  • Obtain BLS certification within 30 days
  • Obtain ACLS certification within 30 days
  • Complete the Trauma Outcome Performance Improvement Course within 12 months of hire
  • Get PALS certification in 30 days or ENPC in 180 days from hire date
  • Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses or the Trauma Nurse Core Course should be accomplished within 180 days of hiring
