Requirements

  • Graduate of a baccalaureate nursing program.
  • Current RN license by applicable state requirements.
  • Maintains Basic Life Support (BLS) competency (specific requirements vary by site).
  • Ability to work flexible hours and adapt to unpredictable situations.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability and interpersonal effectiveness.
  • Ability to work both autonomously and in a team environment.
  • Strong communication, critical thinking, problem solving, and computer skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum 1 year of clinical RN experience preferred.
  • Certified Clinical Transplant Coordinator (CCTC) or Certified Clinical Transplant Nurse (CCTN) credential (must obtain within three years of hire).
  • For Bone Marrow Transplant: Adult or Pediatric Oncology Certification (OCN or CPHON), or Bone Marrow Transplant Certified Nurse (BMTCN) credential (must obtain within three years of hire).
  • Additional specialty certification/training may be required by work area.

Responsibilities

  • Coordination of all aspects of care for the transplant patient population.
  • Assessment and planning of care in collaboration with the patient, caregiver, and multidisciplinary healthcare team to meet needs across the care continuum.
  • Assessment of data reflective of the patient's status and interpretation of information relative to the patient's age-specific needs.
  • Consistent provision of patient and family education.
  • Leadership through community involvement, committee work, and participation in quality improvement and research.
