About The Position
At UofL Health, we have diverse RN opportunities within our procedural and surgical services departments. We are looking for RNs in the following departments: Cath Lab (Jewish, Mary and Elizabeth, South Hospitals), CVOR (Jewish Hospital), Endoscopy, EP Lab (Jewish Hospital), Interventional Radiology, Main OR, Outpatient Surgery, Pre-Op, PACU. The Registered Nurse is a competent nurse that will deliver nursing care to patients of varying age groups by utilizing the nursing process and nursing practice standards. The Registered Nurse demonstrates competency caring for complex patients and participates on the care team to improve the quality of care in the clinical area. The Registered Nurse uses: Nursing Practice Competencies to intervene to achieve safe, optimal patient and family centered care health outcomes; Leadership Competencies to coordinate patient care and communicate with the care team; Professional Profile Competencies to develop professionally as a life-long learner, and Practice Outcomes Competencies to evaluate care based on evidence, the UofL Health quality model, and patient safety goals.
Requirements
- Associate’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing program
- All new RN graduates will participate in the Nurse Residency program and must successfully complete all activities
- Current KY RN licensure or compact license with privileges to work in Kentucky
- Basic Life Saving (BLS) accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA)
Nice To Haves
- All new-hire Associate Degree Registered Nurses (new graduate and experienced) are required to start an approved BSN program within one (1) year of hire and complete an approved BSN program within three (3) years of hire (required at UofL Hospital only).
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing program
- Two years of hospital patient care experience
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) (may be required for specific clinical areas)
