One California As our Surgical Services RN, you will provide expert, patient-centered nursing care throughout the perioperative continuum, ensuring optimal outcomes and safety for patients undergoing surgical procedures. Your specialized clinical skills and critical thinking are essential in preparing patients, assisting surgeons, and facilitating a sterile, efficient surgical environment. Every day you will meticulously assess patients pre-operatively, develop care plans, circulate or scrub during procedures, and provide comprehensive post-operative care, expertly managing medications and monitoring vitals. You'll educate patients, ensure strict adherence to safety protocols, and collaborate inter-disciplinarily while meticulously documenting and advocating for patient well-being. To succeed, you'll need exceptional clinical assessment skills, strong critical thinking for high-pressure situations, and excellent communication for team collaboration and patient education. A profound commitment to patient safety, sterile technique, and advancing perioperative nursing, along with self-motivation and adaptability, are essential in this dynamic role.

Requirements

  • Five (5) years current surgical nursing experience
  • Registered Nurse: CA, upon hire
  • Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support, upon hire
  • Experienced in medical record review

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelors Of Science Nursing
  • Two (2) years nursing leadership experience as charge nurse, educator or nurse manager, upon hire
  • Cardiac Surgery Subspecialty Certification, upon hire

Responsibilities

  • Keeps abreast of changing national standards of clinical practice and the Dignity Health Surgical Safety Initiatives
  • Disseminates pertinent safety and specialty related information
  • Participates in patient safety or administrative rounding
  • Presents patient and staff safety concerns to appropriate clinical forums
  • Participates in and contributes to departmental performance review activities
  • Assists and supports the healthcare team when an adverse event or untoward outcome occurs
