About The Position

As our Charge Nurse, you'll oversee a department of frontline nurses caring for patients. Your previous experience in acute care, LTC, or nursing homes adds tremendous value to our nursing team. Every day you will advocate for your fellow nurses as you support them in reaching their full potential, which aligns with your department's operational goals and objectives. To thrive in this role, you need to be accountable and confident. You're an excellent communicator in 1:1 interactions and in front of groups. It's also important for you to be comfortable holding tough conversations, as you are responsible for the performance of your people and your unit. Our surgical department consists of 8 operating rooms with a designated cardiac and urology suite. The OR suites are equipped with state-of-the-art lighting tables and equipment. While all service lines are supported hearts vascular major ortho and neuro spine are the most prominent. The recent addition of the DaVinci Xi will allow this surgery department to provide a high level of care. This collaborative department supports learning and professional growth. We believe in a teamwork approach where each person is respected and valued. We are not currently accepting new graduate or new to speciality applications.

Requirements

6 months previous acute care RN experience in same unit
Current and Active Registered Nurse CA
AHA Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support
Moderate Sedation training for all monitored areas
OR charge nurse experience or comparable leadership roles within a perioperative setting
